| “Bell Witch Story” play |
The Tennessee Theater Company is celebrating its 10th Anniversary of the popular local theatrical production “The Bell Witch Story” with the shows return October 9th through the 31st. “The Bell Witch Story” is a supernatural thriller based on actual events that took place in Adams, Tennessee from 1817 to 1821, in which a spirit tormented John Bell and his family, leaving him in a terrifying fight against the vengeful ghost to save his children and his own life. The infamous haunting is the only known case where a spirit actually took credit for killing someone and is the only haunting acknowledged in any US state records. The play is based on eyewitness accounts from Richard Bell’s manuscript “Our Family Trouble” and Charles Bailey Bell’s book “The Bell Witch of Tennessee”, as experienced by hundreds of people including Andrew Jackson. “The Bell Witch Story” will be performed at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville (October 9th, 10th, 11th, 16th, 17th and 18th); the Wilson County Fairgrounds in Lebanon (October 23rd, 24th and 25th); and Patterson Theatre in Murfreesboro (October 29th, 30th and 31st). All shows start at 7:30 p.m.; doors open 30 minutes before each show. At the door, tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for students. Go to BellWitchStory.com to obtain further information and purchase tickets in advance at a $2 discount, which will also allow you express entrance into the show. For questions call (615)730-8538.

27th Annual Mt. Juliet Pow Wow – Selected by the Southeast Tourism Society as a Top 20 Event in 2006. Nominated again this year
Charlie Daniels Park
Mt. Juliet, TN 37211
The 27th Annual Mt. Juliet Pow-Wow will be at Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet. This event is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 10:00 am - 9:00 pm and on Sunday, September 28, 2008 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm . The fee is $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children (6-12), free for children under 6.
Feel your heart pound to the beat of Indian drums, as you experience the beauty and passion of an American Indian Pow Wow in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. A traditional pow wow is a time of gathering and celebration with friends and family. Where all nations come together at one place for traditional dancing, music, arts and crafts, and food. See a live buffalo. Native Americans come from across the country and Canada to participate in the dance and drum competition for prize money. Drums and songs are the heartbeat and the inspiration of pow wows. Some of the dress and ornament, called regalia, signify special events or honors in a person’s life, special religious traditions or perhaps legends.
The Flying Feather Band will be performing on Saturday afternoon at 4:30pm
Native Americans were indigenous to Tennessee before the forced removal of President Andrew Jackson, therefore, Tennessee is rich in Native American history. An extraordinary family event.

| ALopecia Dinner for Women with Bald Girls Do Lunch |
BALD GIRLS DO LUNCH in Nashville, TN– July 16, 2008
www.baldgirlsdolunch.org
Thea Chassin is bald and she wants you to notice. She is the founder of a
New York-based international nonprofit called "Bald Girls Do Lunch", which
is dedicated specifically to helping women with the auto-immune hair loss
condition, Alopecia Areata.
On July 16, Thea will host Tennessee’s first Bald Girls event at Maggiano’s Restaurant in Nashville. The dinner will include a discussion of acceptance of women suffering from Alopecia Areata.
The condition, which affects nearly 5 million Americans, is not life
threatening but is life altering. Typically starting as smooth round bald
patches, it can progress to complete baldness. Its sudden onset, recurrent
episodes, and unpredictable nature have a profound impact on the lives of
those disrupted by this disease.
Thea, who has been bald for 10 years, inspires women to explore their
choices in head covering or head exposing and help women learn how to talk to others about this condition, eliminating embarrassment. She also giveswomen practical advice for maintaining normal, active lives despite their hair loss struggles.
For more information on Bald Girls Do Lunch and the event on July 16,
